It was always going to be some sh** AliExpress Android phone anyway. There was definitely also going to be some kind of spyware/ harvesting happening

Here in Australia, this would likely be fraud by deception

Now I’m picturing a PHON Party phone.

Automatically disconnects the call if an accent is detected

Only charges from fossil fuel sources

Proximity screeching (in Pauline’s voice) when within 5 meters of a Greens voter

Pre-order now for a free bundled Burka!

It would also run Bitcoin mining, and send the money to Pauline, and then pretend it’s doing you a favour and saving taxpayer money

You can say shit, I have no idea why you’d willingly type sh**, just use a different fucking word if you’re concerned about…something?

You’re in Australia for chrissakes. A land of sincere, devoted contributions to the development of vulgarity and obscenities of all kinds. What are ya doin.

“offended” - is that the thing to avoid?

I’m not “offended” lol. I just think it’s dumb and bad for all of us. Use the words you mean. If you mean them, then use them. If you don’t mean them, use something else. What is this weird hack job for no benefit?

Self-censorship like this is utterly bizarre, when limitless even richer words are available, and just typing the actual word has no imaginable negative consequence. It’s bad for all of us.

Actually, its super bizarre to make a big deal over something mundane like this. Guessing you’re that guy in real life who needs all your friends to be yes men, and agree with you.

No, I’m not changing it. You’ll survive, Karen… Maybe you should be more concerned about Trump’s scams…

                You’re right. I don’t

It’s one of those things that “anti woke” people would say to bully people who don’t stoop to their level lol

You sound proudly ignorant, but go off, why not?

Self censorship was not a thing one ever encountered online until people found it to be useful / necessary for favorable algorithmic treatment on the big social media platforms.

And then, since it wasn’t really policies as much as algorithmic vibes folks were trying to satisfy, folks start self-censoring the dumbest shit. Like blurring out the word “hate” and other idiotic nonsense. It’s this very stupid way of warping how people write, to satisfy a machine. And normalizing that, as a normal way to communicate.

So yeah, not a fan when I see people writing that way. Because I prefer human beings.
