Most pager systems are actually huge privacy violations. $20 for a software defined radio dongle and a few minutes will give you plaintext pager notifications for hospitals across your state.
Did a project on it when I was breaking into cybersecurity.
There are encrypted paging setups, but there’s a lot of places still running legacy.

I left my job over moral objections coming up on a year ago. Hundreds of interviews later, still unemployed. I don’t regret my decision, but I’m lucky enough to have a support system. Otherwise, I’d be out of luck.
I had a realization lately that the last season didn’t just ruin GoT for me. I think it subconsciously ruined TV. I’ve not gotten invested in a non-comedy series since then.
