Immich is just fantastic. Probably one of the best software in the self-hosting world. I had no problems with breaking changes in the last ~1,5 years I’m using it.

Yup, I’m pretty sure that must be the case.

I don’t want subscriptions, nor an algorithm. I want results for my search phrase. This technology exists for decades at this point. It should just work.

I hate PornHub search so much. I’m sure it used to work at some point in the past but now it’s completely useless. The only way to find something interesting for me is to scroll through garbage, click at anything even remotely promising, scroll through similar videos, click at anything even remotely promising, scroll through similar videos… Eventually I will usually find what I’m looking for - it is there but it’s fucking unsearchable for whatever reason. And mind you, I’m not into very niche stuff at all.

Good thing I have a girlfriend now and I barely ever touch porn anymore.

You could say that the current way is so unclear that the guy had to write a 2 thousand word essay to explain it.

And then it turns out it’s merged but not released yet… Been there.
