It’s a glimmer of hope in an ocean of sewage. I’ll fucking take it. Thanks for the TLDR

In addition to the other comments here, we can’t rule out the human love for hobbies either. Did I spend 2 days hand coding an entire blog that I won’t show to anyone just for fun to learn some HTML and CSS? Hell yeah I did. Will I use that knowledge to make something less chaotically coded that I can actually be proud of? More than likely.

Obviously that won’t be a large percentage of the market if even a noticeable one but, I’d like to think hobbyists will help preserve some good open source projects.

I almost put that and I should’ve. But I didn’t know how many people would get it.

We don’t have time for a hand job Joe!

Yeah, it’s pretty awful. Plus there’s no Ow My Balls.

Ooohh I’m going to save this post. Looking to dip my toes into some self hosting and I don’t even know where to begin. Thanks for asking OP!

Disgusting? Yes Shocking? Not even a little.

I tried it out for a month. I just had unimportant things going there. It seemed alright but, I don’t code or anything so I can’t speak to how well all that worked out. I will say that my account did get deleted for inactivity so that’s a thing to be aware of. I know some people were critical at one point of Tuta for that.

“The agency leadership is lost,” the former cyber investigator tells me.

He says staff have been advised to sign up to a service called DeleteMe, which helps remove personal information from data broker websites - a response he feels is inadequate.

Lmao. Wow. They’re really getting a taste of what they do to us every day.

Kinda horrifying honestly

I got it from Fdroid I didn’t even realize it was on play 🤣 but that’s pretty great

I hate this timeline…

I read recently target has cameras and audio equipment in their carts now. I haven’t shopped at target in years so idk that first hand but it absolutely wouldn’t surprise me.
