Just git clone the repo to analyze it. That is the intended way to get the code for running your natural neural network over it; it should work just fine for artificial neural networks too.
Peak internet: solving a captcha while being judged by a catgirl 😭
If running a development team is like herding cats, of course an self-organized free software team is a “clowder”. Autonomy respecting catboys are also welcome.
At least it’s not a hypersexualized catgirl.
Just as a backup, nothing more, can somebody PLEASE fork it and have the avatar be a LEGION of furries? 🥹🩵🩷🤍 My programming “skills” are…
Hello, world!, so…You can replace it with a userscript, just like someone replaced the Wolfram Aplha logo with its fursona
Its called evolution, roll with it.
Wait until they find out about Programmer Socks.
Anubis has become so common across the internet that I basically never notice it lol
Xenia save us, foxgirl xenia
First of all, it’s a jackal girl.
Second, we wouldn’t need Anubis if it wasn’t for the hoard of scraping bots trying to copy every line of source code they can, to feed into LLM to be ground up and spat out as an attributionless mass of Frankenstein code.
Would they rather it be a soulless corporate logo? A flat two tone rounded corner letter on a square?
The issue isn’t even that they copy it once anymore. That would be a one and done thing.
The biggest problem is that they can’t even be arsed to copy anything but the URL. They save their own resources by feeding only the address and metadata into the training model and then letting it loose to collect the datasets for itself again.
That means every new model and every slight tweak is an additional crawler that will spamm your server with requests, all because these lunatics are too cheap to buy their own hdds.
I think we collectively agreed FOSS mascots need to be full furry, preferably drawn by that one artist who did the KDE mascots
Tyson Tan, who also did Freedom Planet 2 designs.
The only way to fight multi-billionaire corporations is by being a little
controversialopinionated.
yep. this is like somebody putting a giant retro reflective wall in front of their house because the person across from them idles their vehicle with blinding LED headlights every morning for 10 minutes pointed straight in the living room
It sucks that you can’t browse anywhere without javascript anymore. It used to be that all the open source sites, most news sites, forums running phpbb, even YouTube aside from the actual <video> element all worked without javascript, and as a bonus there would be no ads.
Now, you can’t browse anywhere without these challenges. At least this one is noninvasive, but the Cloudflare one and the Google Recaptcha do a ton of fingerprinting to choose whether to let you in.
USPS has a home-rolled one that requires web assembly enabled, or it silently fails with a blank page. There’s no non-malicious excuse for that.
If this is the future of web browsing, hopefully more sites use systems like Anubis. But I also hope at least static pages can be viewable as plain html.

I sadly found out when trying to track the replacement display for my phone from iFixit through the Kobo web browser.
What’s wrong with Javascript
Web browsers have a huge attack surface, and are most people’s main exposure to potential exploits. Without javascript, 99% of the attack surface disappears, becuase the attacker no longer has a way to run arbitrary code.
A lot of terminal-based browsers don’t do javascript.
If I want to scrape a page, this makes it a pain for both parties. I’m not an AI company, so I can afford the hash tax, but it’s still a pain to spin up Firefox from a from cron job instead of wget. And I’m still doing it, Anubis doesn’t stop small time scrapers like me who aren’t running AI training, and only scrape like one page per day. So now the server has to serve the original page, plus all the Anubis stuff each time my crown job goes off.
The HT in HTTP stands for HyperText, not HyperCode.
The greybeards somehow dodged gamergate modders and found blahaj members to pass the torch to, I respect that.
Look, FOSS comes in two flavors.
Either all the contributor profile pics are flash lit smiling photos of middle aged bearded guys with glasses standing in an office, or they’re anime girls.
or creatures :3
I constantly get reminded that Gonzo, even in business attire, is not an acceptable professional avatar to upload to the companys Windows profile. I’m also a contractor so I dgaf.
I’ve gone for the corpo middle ground and my company picture is the Japanese business blahaj in a suit. I’ve been told, “I don’t even look for your name I just look for the shark, it stands out more”
Oh- well i guess i am not a developer anymore now XD
It’s the same demographic for both.
Tbf, a place as serious as that could indeed use a different logo. Anubis absolutely allows for that, the catgirl is just the default.
But then, obviously some find this janky nature of OSS beautiful in its own right
But that would waste the opportunity to make conservatives feel like the world doesn’t revolve around them.
Nuh uh
What a janky comment.
Indeed! Take my upvote
Who the hell is this pissed off at a cat girl
Conservatives. They hate everything.
The kind of whimsiless corpo half-person who seems embarrassed to know that anime is a thing, and can’t mention it without assuring his audience that he doesn’t watch that stuff

I’m guessing fathers
Spurned lover.
idk i think its pretty out of place and gets kind of obnoxious seeing specifically anime furry adjacent stuff all the time. If its your thing, its really your thing, if its not your thing its mildly annoying/occasionally weird. Theres some communities where if youre an outsider its better not to engage with the fandom but thats hard when its your job to interact with these people all day.
ok tangent: i used to think furries are mostly innocent nice nerds, but then i found out how the vast majority are into it as a kink or some kind of nasty besti*lity cartoon fetish nasty nasty. I get reallly uncomfy around those dudes that wear the mascot head to walmart or whatever bc i feel like hes gonna jerk off about being a dog later
edit: yeah that sums up my feelings, i feel gross like youre exposing me/involving me in your kink when i see that stuff. not in an extreme way or anything. but the nature of it being wantinf to fck dogs takes it up a notch
then i found out how the vast majority are into it as a kink or some kind of nasty besti*lity cartoon fetish nasty nasty.
Well, good news! You’re wrong!
A furry is simply somebody who’s a fan of anthropomorphics. For example, I’m a fan of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I do not want to fuck the TMNT. I’m willing to bet most fans of the TMNT don’t.
I get reallly uncomfy around those dudes that wear the mascot head to walmart or whatever bc i feel like hes gonna jerk off about being a dog later
Maybe. Why do you care, though? It sounds like you’re upset about kinky people existing.
This reaction is not neutral. You’re missing the people in between those repulsed by the idea of silly animal cartoons (you) and those who actively enjoy silly animal cartoons. Which is everybody else, who just see a cartoon and do not care.
Legitimate completely non-sarcastic question because I’m actually curious. How do you feel about trans rights and how do you feel about Trump?
Sees harmless picture of anime girl somewhere on the internet
DON’T INVOLVE ME WITH YOUR GROSS BEASTIALITY KINK
Furry porn is a thing the same way anime porn is a thing. Just because someone’s into anime doesn’t mean they’re jerkin it to anime all the time
anime furry
It’s literally a cartoon.
What’s your basis for saying the vast majority are into it as a kink thing? Because I’m someone who used to feel uneasy about furries for much the same reason you are — but that was when I personally knew few, if any people who were furries.
Over the last few years, my work has meant that I’ve met more furries than I can count, becoming friends with many of them, and developing a better understanding of what being a furry offers them. It’s not a sex thing for the vast majority of furries I have known. This isn’t just based on my experience either — I have an artist friend who draws furry porn for a living. Although she is not a furry herself, she exists in close proximity to the furry community so that she can network and get commissions, and she agrees that the people for whom it’s a kink thing is a minority
I was a furry before I had words for it, way before I knew anything about sex stuff… I learned the term “furry” around 2002 and was shocked there was a term for it, and quite a few other people who felt the same way I did!
