      I get a popup that blocks the article that gives me the choice either to subscribe or to accept their cookies and privacy policy.

      I’m not accepting shit, and it’s illegal under GDPR for them to give that ultimatum.

        Have you activated the annoyances filter in uBlock Origin?

        *Cookie Notices, not annoyances (although I have that active as well)

          Yes, on my desktop with uBO I don’t see the popup. I originally commented from mobile though, and my mobile browser was showing the popup even though it has uBO included.

            You can also activate those functions in the mobile version :) (At least I can in Fennec, which is a Firefox fork)

        Different data protection authorities have AFAIK ruled differently on that…

        If people no longer linked to sites that do that, there wouldn’t be very much on the Internet that one could still link to. I don’t post things that are paywalled (for me), but I do post things where you have to accept cookies; you can always access the site in private browsing mode if you’re concerned.
