    Or that Gen AI is being accepted to mean general AI instead of the actual term of generative AI. Which isn’t even AI at all. It’s Markov chains all the way down.

      not here for sure, but Lemmy is not exactly a reflection of the general population

      people are starting to grow numb to gen AI, and people have grown numb to worse things so it’s not exactly going to get undone easily

        Even on Lemmy AI has been normalized a bit, although in those cases it’s always used to make fun of some dead MAGA or some dying MAGA

    Honestly, I have not seen anyone who values art “be ok with” generative AI.
    The only people who think it is even remotely cool are lazy programmers with no friends.

      Losers who see ai as the opportunity to compete with people who are passionate about something else than fame or money.

      Hell even from day one I’ve known some students even who didn’t like it. I have met pro-AI people, mostly c-suite wannabes though.
