The company I work for started a six month pilot program during which workers can choose to replace Windows 11 with Ubuntu on their laptops.
In order to celebrate this great opportunity I’ve created my own version of the Microslop logo and ordered a bunch of stickers for me and my colleagues.

It’s a shame Ubuntu is the only Linux option you’re given, but I would still take that over Windows.
Yeah… But it makes sense for a company. 15 years of support for LTS versions and you can pay for enterprise support. It seems that we will even get Sudo rights so I think I will manage.
I was about to say you really gonna rip the GN design and change tux and call it a day and not even credit them? Then saw the very bottom.
I was absolutely sure that somebody is going to call me out if I don’t credit them. I wasn’t let down it seems.

It is! I wanted to use icons from Windows only that’s why.
Yup. I don’t like the original T-shirt’s custom, green Tux. And WSL (even with its oddly reverse name) is better than the other penguin vector graphics that ship with Windows…
I’m pretty sure the designer was told “Nothing like Tux”. The first emoji shows a corporate, decidedly uncute emperor penguin, the other one is reminiscent of Club Penguin and screams “how do you do, fellow kids”. Still, it could - and has been - made worse with the pivot to AI and gradients.

As of yesterday, there were around 20 people listed as recipients in the last email we got. This number may sound small but as far as I know not many people have heard about this pilot since it wasn’t really advertised. And I’m actively trying to get even more people on board!
Either way, I’m very happy that my company is doing this especially since we are a semi-state-owned company.

I mean the idea isn’t that novel to begin with as can be seen with this Reddit thread for example but either way I didn’t make a secret out of it. I got my GamerNexus shirt very recently so yeah, I was influenced by their design when looking for a sticker motive. 🤷♂️
