I would get on a regular antacid and see if that helps. As I age my acid reflux has been morphing into gerd and the generalized chest pain is random and terrifying but solvable with some tums.
As someone who used to have acid reflux that was morphing into GERD, changing my diet completely eliminated it.
Low-carb works for me- also I’m mildly allergic to clove.
I guess this post is more for anyone else reading - if you have acid reflux, try figuring out which foods give you acid reflux first. It may require a radical change in diet. If you’ve done that and still have acid reflux, then take the medication.
That’s the real problem, I like not having to worry about what I’m eating or drinking more than I’m discomforted by the results, I’m sure that balance will change at some point.
This happens for me because of trapped gas. Try getting up, doing some stretches.
