Usually, terraforming includes belching greenhouse gases to melt polar ice caps. Arrival with Charlie Sheen plays on this.

We currently are with fossil fuels.

In the cold and thin atmosphere of mars, greenhouse gases would make it more habitable, on earth reducing them and reversing their effects would be the goal of terra forming.

And on Venus, its atmosphere full of greenhouse gases renders it uninhabitable.

It’s all about the sweet spot.

Except Venus is also a whole orbit closer to the Sun. If Venus had Mars’s levels, it still might be a hellscape.

After terraforming Earth, we should begin the process of terraforming Mars by nuking the fuck out of its core to restore its magnetosphere. Doing this properly will take us thousands of years.

If we were sincere about terraforming Mars, we should push Deimos into Pheobes and maybe another asteroid to start a singular satellite. This’ll give it some tidal stress and start massaging it. Maybe nuking is an idea to explore in theory?
