i’m guessing the subcategory got removed because of slapfights between pure and applied mathematicians

There’s a great book called “the advent of the algorithm” and it has a chapter about how frequently logicians lose their minds and take their lives.
Was probably the “you can help expand this list by contributing” line at the top.
This reminds me of the book Three-Body Problem, which has a whole bunch of physicists going down the suislide near the beginning.
