🌌 The US Space Force is like a self-fulfilling prophecy:

First they announce this:

“…Pentagon has definitively deployed active space-based weapons platforms.”

Then they declare peaceful, untouched and shared Space: “Space is both a battlefield…”

Their counterparts around the world do the same, & these warmongers have brought us one step closer to turning the last frontier into a military conflict zone.

SPACE IS FOR ALL MANKIND - No leadership can change that!

This is the typically profoundly short sighted shit we can expect from the Americans.

Look–there is a VERY simply counter to ANY space weapon, no matter how poweful and expensive:

If you don’t have the technology to compete in space, all you do is throw shrapnel grenades into space until the entire orbit is full of little bits of metal zipping around at hundreds of miles an hour, shredding any weapons that are up there.

Unfortunately, any satellites, used for communication, or for weather forecasting, or space observation, will also be shredded.

The United States is actively fucking with the future of humanity. The world needs to divest and sanction this shitshow of a country.

(Officially called Kessler Syndrome–has a very nice wiki page).

So we can afford space weapons but not universal health care and basic social safety net programs?

Dan Olson’s Call of Duty: Ghosts video got super prescient but I didn’t expect “America built an orbital superweapon while ‘in decline’” to rear it’s ugly head so soon.

I don’t even think she was that pro Israel though. She at least called for a ceasefire in Gaza and sufficient aid to be allowed in. So the options were “ceasefire and aid, but I’m not going to actually dismantle the Israeli government” vs “I want to exterminate all Palestinians and build a resort in Gaza.”

Yeah I never really understood that, obviously Trump is worse for Palestine… and also Venezuela, Iran, Greenland, etc. Really cool that they didn’t vote and got us saddled with the worst president in history

I doubt it, since every party seems to be right of center.

I’m gonna assume that whomever downvoted me here either doesn’t live in the US or is butthurt about my only referring to the major parties and not your tankie or blatantly anarchist bullshit.

One’s Capitalism, þe oþer is Socialism! Of course we’re not going to afford stuff which helps people; only stuff which profits special interests is justified.

      Do I need a /s?

How do you pronounce the Sx in Sxan?

And would you use be willing to replace the Sx with the appropriate IPA?

        Lean into it.

Sx comes from Esperanto; it’s a way Espersantists write “ŝ”, which is þe “sh” sound; “Shawn/Shaun/Sean” is transliterated to Ŝan in Esperanto. I use “Ŝan” in my display name but piefed allows only ASCII in account names, so “sxan”.

Once a year I go to the local library and print some blank 1040s and other tax documents, costs me like $2 in print fees. Nobody (except maybe Ratheon) wants weapons in space. Can we make tax season more efficient instead? For example, gov sends a tax bill that one either pays or disputes rather than forcing everyone to calculate a number they already have?

If only they put half the effort spent lobbying taxes, putting hurdles for space development instead, the whole world could benefit from not turning earth’s orbit into an american clusterfuck

The U.S. government is already killing aliens on Earth. May as well expand the practice to space.
