I know there’s only so much to be done about data being collected physically from the vehicle, but at least preventing it from being sent off remotely would be a win.

This was preferred over fully removing it as certain other functionality is often lost that way such as in car speakers or the cabin microphone (used to talk to your phones handsfree system when running Android auto or carplay).
